We often work on projects requiring the use of traditional building techniques of which stone work and lime mortar specialist work are just two aspects. These techniques were used over the course of many centuries and lime mortar’s effectiveness as a building material has endured due to its remarkable durability. This previously time-honoured building technique was based on local tradition and trade knowledge, vindicated by the surprising number of old buildings that remain standing. We can assist with the maintenance of historical buildings constructed using these techniques and have many years experience in the use of traditional construction methods.
Bat Lofts
We are widely experienced and have built quite a reputation in working on rural properties which have bats roosting in the roof space. As we have gained this experience, we have found that more and more clients are enquiring about specially designed and built bat lofts in their properties, as it has long been illegal to intentionally kill, injure or take any bat or to recklessly damage, destroy or block up their roosts or even to disturb them. We work closely within DEFRA (Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs) guidelines with regards to bat roosts, and we can help clients to live in harmony with bats by minimising any disturbance they may cause.
